The Thyroid Ghana Foundation launched the 14th World Thyroid Awareness Week celebration under the theme "Thyroid and Communication — It's Not You, It's Your Thyroid" in collaboration with the University of Ghana Medical Centre Ltd (UGMC).
A significant component of this launch involved the second phase of a subsidized thyroid surgery project. This initiative aims to provide financial assistance to thyroid patients who require surgical intervention at UGMC.
The event brought together healthcare professionals, patients, and community leaders for a week of education and screening. Activities included free thyroid screenings at community health centers and educational workshops for healthcare workers across Accra.
